WELCOME TO SMILES GCP

Smiles GCP is a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization driven by the belief that a confident smile can open doors, create opportunities, and change lives. We bring compassionate, skilled dental care to those who need it most. Many individuals in these areas lack access to basic dental care, leading to pain, discomfort, and a loss of self-confidence. We are here to change that.

Our dedicated team of dental professionals provides essential preventative care, including regular checkups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and education on maintaining oral health. By addressing these needs, we not only prevent serious dental issues but also help restore confidence, dignity, and quality of life.

01.
High Prevalence of Tooth Decay in Caribbean Children

Dental caries (tooth decay) remains a significant public health concern among young children in the Caribbean. Despite overall improvements, younger children have not experienced the same decline in dental caries prevalence as older age groups.

02.
Disparities in Dental Health Among Toronto’s Low-Income Children

In Toronto, children attending schools in the lowest-income areas face a disproportionately high rate of dental issues. Specifically, 19% of these children were identified with suspected dental caries, more than double the rate of their peers in the highest-income areas (8%).

03.
Emergency Room Visits for Dental Issues in Ontario

In Ontario, dental problems account for approximately 1% of all emergency room visits, primarily involving low-income adults. These visits are estimated to cost the healthcare system between $16 to $31 million annually, underscoring the need for accessible preventive dental care to alleviate this burden.

UPCOMING EVENT – 2026

DENTAL MISSION

In April 2025, our compassionate dental team journeyed to Grenada to provide free dental care to individuals in underserved communities. From essential extractions to restorative treatments, we delivered relief, restored dignity, and helped bring back the confidence that comes with a healthy smile.

We are deeply grateful to our volunteers, donors, and community partners who made this mission possible. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one smile at a time.

BRINGING SMILES HOME 🙂

A smile is more than just an expression—it’s a symbol of self-worth and joy. When we help someone regain their healthy smile, we’re giving them more than dental care; we’re giving them hope. Your support allows us to continue providing these life-changing services for free.
